Change Team Roles - Product Work Stream Lead
The Product Work Steam Lead manages and implements changes to products or services within an organization during a change initiative.
They ensure any updates, redesigns or new product introductions are:
- Aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives
- Enhancing the organisations offerings
- Meeting customer needs and expectations
- Seamlessly integrated into operations
- Contributing to the overall success of the change initiative
Their core responsibility is to manage the product strategy alignment by:
- Leading the development or redesign of products to ensure they meet customer and business needs, ensuring they are user-centric, functional, and aligned with organisational standards. They do this by:
- Gathering insights and requirements from customers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Translating business goals and change objectives into actionable product objectives and requirements.
- Ensuring product updates align with overall change initiatives and strategic objectives
- Act as a bridge between internal teams (design, development, marketing, and sales) to coordinate product changes.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by clearly communicating product timelines, benefits, and progress.
- Ensure smooth integration of product updates into existing systems, workflows, and customer-facing platforms.
- Work closely with operations, IT, and other work streams to manage dependencies.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identifying potential risks associated with product changes, including customer dissatisfaction or operational disruptions & developing mitigation strategies to address these risks effectively.
- Developing and executing implementation plans for product-related changes, including:
- Overseeing testing and quality assurance processes to ensure reliability and performance.
- Supporting the Training Lead to develop and deliver training for employees affected by product changes.
- Providing resources and tools to support employees and customers in adopting the new or updated product.
- Embed the Change through:
- Tracking product performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and customer feedback.
- Monitoring adoption rates and identify barriers to product success.
- Using insights to refine the product and resolve any gaps or issues post-implementation.
By effectively managing product changes, the Product Workstream Lead ensures that new or improved products add value to the organization, enhance customer experience, and contribute to the overall success of the change initiative.
