Change Team Roles - Team/Change Champions
This role serves as on-the-ground advocates, facilitators, and role models who drive adoption and engagement at a team level. By acting as a trusted source of information and support, they ensure the success of the change initiative within their specific areas of influence.
Team/Change Champions play a critical role in bridging the gap between change management teams and employees.
By fostering a sense of ownership and engagement, they contribute to smoother transitions, higher adoption rates, and long-term sustainability of the change.
Their core responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and support by:
- Providing hands-on support to team members during the transition, helping them navigate challenges and uncertainties.
- Offering guidance and encouragement to employees adapting to new systems, processes, or responsibilities.
- Ensuring team members understand their roles in the change and have access to the resources they need.
- Fostering a positive attitude toward the change, addressing scepticism and resistance in a constructive manner. Relaying employee concerns, questions, and feedback to the change management team for resolution.
- Leading by example by embracing and demonstrating the new processes, systems, or behaviours being introduced.
- Observing how the change is being received and implemented within their team.
- Identifying and escalating roadblocks, inefficiencies, or resistance to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Acting as a role model for the desired cultural shift, embodying the values and behaviours promoted by the change initiative.
- Encouraging open dialogue about the change and foster a collaborative, supportive team environment.
- Supporting training and knowledge sharing through:
- Assisting in the rollout of training sessions, acting as a local resource for questions and clarifications.
- Reinforcing training content by offering on-the-job coaching and practical application of new skills.
- Sharing best practices and lessons learned to help others succeed in adapting to the change.
